Okay….so if you guys read other blogs, you have probably heard of overnight oats. I’ve gotten into calling them cold oats, but whatever you call them…they’re AMAZING.
I haven’t been craving hot oatmeal lately (since it’s been so toasty warm this summer) and I am even wondering if I’ll stick with the cold oats in the winter since I am so in love.
If you’re looking for 5 different ways to eat oatmeal…check out the post I wrote awhile back. And now, if you’re looking to be amazed by a wonderful summer time breakfast try out what’s below.
This makes a pretty big serving (I work out in the morning so I am pretty hungry…you can cut in 1/2 or do 3/4 if you don’t want as much.) Mix the following ingredients and place in the fridge overnight.
- 1 cup oats
- 1 cup almond milk (or other milk of your choice)
- Cinnnamon (optional, but SO good)
You can also add in some flax (this hurts my stomach so I stay away from it) or some chia seeds or some mashed up banana if you want to get creative and add additional nutritional value.
In the morning add some berries (frozen or fresh) and nuts (walnuts, almonds or even almond butter). It’s a filling, nutritious and delicious breakfast of champions…or sistas.
